SUSSURRA LUCE at Spazio Murat
5 Concerts and 11 artists at the boundaries of electronics, words and voices curated by Francesco Cavaliere and Massimo Torrigiani
Sussurra Luce is a project comprising performances, records releases, radio broadcasts and research initiatives, curated by Francesco Cavaliere and Massimo Torrigiani for Fantom. It explores the relations between sound, word, voice, media and technology with artists, critics and scientists, in the spaces between orality and poetry, technological processes, algorithms and electricity. It listens to the voices of minimal organisms, of seemingly deaf and mute things, blurring images of the everyday and the fantastic; macroscopy, microscopy and music.
Sussurra Luce is an event series produced and organized by Spazio Murat. The series is made possible by the partnership with Regione Puglia and the professional, technical and collaborative contribution of our sponsors:

Francesco Cavaliere is a visual artist, writer and sound maker born in Tuscany, Italy, in 1980. He lives and works between Berlin and Turin. His works are capable of enlivening his listeners’ inner states through a polymorphic activity that combines writing, sound, voice, drawing, sculpture, which together stimulate the imagination, undertaking long journeys crossed by ephemeral presences. He writes sound stories and music based on particles of sound, noise and language, often integrated with installation and scenographic elements or live performance, showing a particular taste for the most diverse forms of exoticism. Over the years he has developed a veritable dictionary to catalogue the metamorphic beings that inhabit his own abstract fantasy universe: hybrids of objects, animals, plants, planets, trails, cosmic objects and physical and perceptual phenomena generated by glass, minerals and voices, recorded and performed with analog technologies. “I am a talking scribe … my voice is a cloud, my pen hisses.”
Artistic director, curator, editor, publisher, Massimo Torrigiani is among the founders of Fantom, a project dedicated to sound and visual arts, and is currently responsible for the arts initiatives of the Italian Buddhist Union. Over the years he has produced exhibitions, books, records, and radio broadcasts, organized performances and concerts in theatres and independent spaces, collaborated with universities, public and private institutions, and companies, also through Boiler, his creative agency (2001-23). He has conceived, edited, and co-directed magazines (Rubbia, Boiler, Rodeo and Fantom) and contributed to international catalogues and periodicals. In 2018 he published Salento Moderno: An Inventory of Private Homes in Southern Puglia (Humboldt Books – Capo d’Arte) and in 2023 Paola Pansini’s Il Teatro Grande (Silvana), a photographic portrait of Brescia’s historical theatre. He was director of Shanghai contemporary art fair, chair of the scientific committee of PAC – the contemporary art museum of the City of Milan, curator of Capo d’Arte, a series of exhibitions in Gagliano del Capo (Lecce), and sat on the curatorial of Triennale Milano Teatro. Since 2023 he is the artistic director of Angoli, the international art festival of Spazio Murat.
