Dillon Gallery dedicates a solo exhibition to Spanish artist Cristina De Middel’s last six years of activity, presenting a selection of her best-known series: Poly-Spam, The Afronauts (Winner of the ICP award 2013 and Deutsche Börse finalist), The Party (awarded the 2014 PhotoEspaña international best book award), Snap Fingers & Whistle, Jan Mayen, Antipodes and This is What Hatred Did.

Coming from a photojournalistic background and often drawing from historical materials, De Middel explores different forms of expression – often preferring the book form – and unconventional subject matters, creating a distinguished visual narrative, which brings into question our assumptions on storytelling.
