The 9th edition of GETXOPHOTO, a photography festival promoted by the Begihandi collective, will take place from September 3rd to October 4th in the city of Getxo, Basque Country, for the third and last consecutive year under the curatorial direction of Christian Caujolle.

Peculiarity of the event, this year orbiting around the visual representation of Trips, is the transformation of the most unconventional venues into exhibiting sites, from shop windows to bars, buildings, containers and yards. Invaded by images, the city becomes a lively platform for exploring and questioning the multiple forms and functions of photography, thanks to the participation of professionals from diverse disciplines such as designers, architects, musicians and publicists.

Besides the 20 exhibitions – featuring artists such as Alejandro Cartagena, Jesús de Echebarría, Zhang Kechun, Jason Larkin, Jacques-Henri Lartigue, Eugenia Maximova, Óscar Monzón and Corinne Vionnet, among others – a rich program of workshops, lectures and guided visits provides the community with an unmissable occasion of dialogue and interaction.
